Freaking good weather...ITS ALL ABOUT.....Linux

Today's weather is like so good until i do not dare to step into my bathroom. The floor is icy cold....T.T

When i woke up at 12p.m. sharp today, my sixth sense told me today will be a boring day without any outing. So i decided to prepare my desktop for my LINUX distro testing. ( To be real, today is a geek's day.. )

FOR THOSE WHO NOT INTERESTED IN TECHNICAL THINGY, SKIP THE PURPLE TEXTS

After some morning slacking online. I started off my experiment first with CentOS Linux which i put ALOT of hopess in it but the results are disappointing. The anaconda installer didnt properly prompt me about the boot loader location. (I'm  a newbie to linux) So it messes up with my Win7 Master Boot Record and made my Win7 fail to boot in return. This forced me to recover my Win7 MBR by using the installation media ( Annoying ). Then let go into the content of the distro. Firstly, the official release of Adobe Flash Player for Linux is not supported  by CentOS ( Surprisingly ). After that i discovered the chinese language pack is not preinstall, users have to use terminal to download and install ( A freaking 201MB ). Then, the third part, the GUI sux! After that im seriouly pissed of by CentOS. The action i did is delete the partiotion and install the next OS i would wan to test, THE UBUNTU.

For Ubuntu, im not new to it. Somehow my PC cant boot the 10.4 version, either is the CD image got problem or simply my hardware do not support. Then i tried back the 8.10 version. The network adapter isnt working, and since i know how Ubuntu looks like, i skipped the whole process. GIVE UP!

Third Linux in the action, and also the last, is openSUSE. This 1, is a pleasure experience, from the first second the installation DVD boot up, till i shut it down, the design, the interface, the speed, the information feed. All are superb, for me it even is better than Ubuntu. After the installation, as usual some accidents will always jump into action. The first is the proprietary driver from ATI official website isnt working right with my ATI HD 5770 and thus made my first installation TOTALLY DEAD, cannot boot up at all. Then i reinstall again and try the open source version ATI driver and finally it work perfectly. After the graphic driver problem is resolved, it takes me another 3 hours ( around that ) to test out those features im curious in. Of course, tested the Apache, MySQL, and PHP on it too. Working perfectly.

PLEASE WATCH THIS! THIS IS WHERE AND WHY I LIKE UBUNTU!!! LOL! PLEASE FINISH IT! YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED!

everything you see in this video is direct screen record from a openSUSE 11.0 OS wit Compiz + KDE3...never been edit...

Amazing isnt it? Power of linux!
